Pike Place Market Radio Meeting: Atrium Loft
Get involved in building a radio station for Pike Place Market! The Pike Place Market PDA has applied for a radio frequency. The signal will reach Downtown and as far north as the south side of Queen Anne Hill and parts of West Seattle.
The PDA sees this as an opportunity to support relationship building among all the different communities that make up the Market, to amplify their voices, and to build awareness about what happens at the Market.
There are ambitious programming dreams for what can be on the radio - such as taking this opportunity to build a community media hub with tools to make many kinds of media - but first we have to build it! After the FCC makes a decision, we'll get a construction permit and will need to build a physical station.
We're looking for people that represent the many different communities at the Market to form a work group that will shape the vision and governance structure of the new radio station. Please come to the February 19th meeting if you want to be part of the work group and/or have experience with fundraising, outreach, community engagement, and marketing as well.
Lend your voice to the planning process!
This effort is being coordinated by Sabrina Roach, Doer specializing in Public Media at Brown Paper Tickets. If you have questions about the new radio station, email her: Sabrina@BrownPaperTickets.com.
