The 3rd Annual Jewish Music Festival - BRIO ENSEMBLE: MUSIC OF THE SEPHARDIM
Jewish Community Center Houston, TX
With the expulsion of Jews in Spain and Portugal in the late 1400s, Sephardic music became disbursed with its people, making it one of the most challenging and exciting repertoires for performers and scholars alike. Founded by Steve Rosenberg in 2002, Brio Ensemble is devoted to the performance of medieval, Renaissance and Sephardic music. The group performs with period instruments and features the singing of the young Brazilian countertenor, Jose Lemos. (RESERVED SEATING)
