Devine's Jug Band touts itself as Americas most authentic sounding jug band. In their short 15-month history, they have built up an impressive portfolio, including two performances at the Great American Music Hall and two at the Freight and Salvage and a performance at Jazz at Pearls. This four-piece group includes: Pete Devine on jug, washboard/percussion, the Cheek-O-Phone(TM) and vocals; Meredith Axelrod on guitar, kazoo and vocals; Mayumi Urgino on fiddle, and either Bill Foss or Jacob Groopman on banjo-mandolin. myspace.com/devinesjugband
Axelrod, Cary & Foss say they banded together to eat burritos and oatmeal, to play jugband, rags, blues and old jazz with abandon and grace, to dress well and stay warm.
