THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST by Oscar Wilde. This 1895 masterpiece is one of the most famous of all comedies. It revolves around an ingenious case of mistaken identity and is filled with some of the wittiest language to be found in the English-speaking theatre. The characters gently challenge the traditional moral platitudes saying that divorces are made in heaven and the truth isnt quite the sort of thing one tells to a nice, sweet, refined girl.
