Cinema Symphonic presents "Metropolis"
The German silent classic "Metropolis" will be shown Thursday to Saturday, Dec. 5 to 7, at the Carriage House Theater, 360 Farmington Ave., in Hartford, in an event presented by HartBeat Ensemble's new "Cinema Symphonic" silent-film series.
The film will be accompanied by music composed and performed by student musicians from Hartt School of Music, which is at University of Hartford in West Hartford. Fritz Lang's 1927 sci-fi is about a future world where the 1 percent live above ground and the workers live below, and the son of the city's ruler falls in love with a working-class heroine.
