Imperfect Sentiments

"Imperfect Sentiments" is a performance about lifeevery dancer in our show has a story to tell. This year, they will do exactly that.

We began rehearsals in August 2013. We have devoted 4-5 hours every Saturday, and in spite of family deaths, turnover and hospitalizations, the company is still moving strong, and we dancing our hearts out every week. What started as a little show is now a large production with five choreographers and 16 dances performed to original live compositions as well as other popular music. What began as a seed of an idea is now a full-fledged creation about all of us.

The performance is based around human emotions. We all have felt the pain of loss or the joy of life, and with this show, each dancer gets to show you a little bit about themselves. Throughout the performance, we will have video of each dancer telling the audience about a significant point in their life, the emotion they felt. One of the pieces we are doing is about relationships, and how hard it is to keep love strong when you've gotten comfortable with each other. Does this comfort lead to distress? Does it lead to adultery? We are diving into the root of what makes us do the things we do.
