Baby with the Bathwater by Christopher Durang
Happy Medium Theatre, Inc. is proud to present Tony Award winning American playwright, Christopher Durang's hit play, Baby with the Bathwater. The script masterfully combines farce, satire, and good-humored wackiness in a way that exemplifies why Durang is touted to be one of the funniest dramatists alive.
Two woefully unprepared parents, John and Helen bring home their newborn that they will eventually and misguidedly name, Daisy. A warped, Mary Poppins-esque Nanny and young mother , Cynthia also leave long-term, damaging impressions on the small child. As an adolescent, Daisy searches for an identity and name while he wastes an inordinate amount of time in college and in the beds of strangers. As an adult, he becomes determined to not perpetuate the mistakes of his parents, when he finds himself with a new bride and child of his own.
