AWOL and the City of Savannah present Christmas in Savannah
All Walks of Life and The Department of Cultural Affairs will present an original theatrical production entitled Christmas in Savannah opening on December 13, 2013 at 7:00pm at S.P.A.C.E. Black Box Theater.

SAVANNAH, Ga. -12/2/13- All Walks of Life (AWOL) and The City of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs present and original holiday play entitled Christmas in Savannah. The show opens up on December 13, 2013 at 7:00pm with additional show times and dates on December 14th, 20th, 21st and Sunday matinee shows at 3:00pm on December 15th  and 22nd.

Christmas in Savannah is a story much like the famous Christmas Carol, marked by the terrors of isolation and loneliness felt by one particular character, but with a twist of  comedy as a somewhat dysfunctional family learns that even the emotional wounds handed down from generation to generation can be healed. Lead by a young woman named Blair who insists that her staff runs Christmas by the book, until an eccentric bunch shows her she's been reading the wrong book. Much like Dickens Scrooge character, Blair will encounter the ghost of Christmas past and learns the true meaning of Christmas.

"We are excited to be collaborating with DCA for our second annual Christmas show giving area youth a unique opportunity to showcase their unique talents", DaVena Jordan, Executive Director

The shows Director, Ms. Lakesha Green is also responsible for writing this years show.  Once AWOL  enrolled over 50 youth into this years theater programs, it became clear that the organization needed a show that really spoke to not only the spirit of Christmas, but  one that also  allowed for area youth to really get involved in creating holiday cheer for all. This year holiday goers will get to see original work performed by youth actors, dancers and some of the cities most powerful singing voices. The show is filled with lots of singing and is sure to bring out the Christmas cheer in all.

Through a special partnership with the Savannah Harbor Festival of Lights 2013, tickets will also be available on show nights to experience Savannah's second annual festival of lights with over 50 larger-than-life lighted, holiday-themed displays and millions of sparkling lights of every color under the rainbow. For those looking to really get in the Christmas spirit, the December 15th show will end with a special trolley ride over to the festival of lights, replete with the entire cast singing Christmas carols along the way.  Tickets for the special Caroling to the Lights ride will be sold at a special discount of $15 each. Be on the look out for appearances from the cast of Christmas in Savannah at the Savannah Harbor Festival of Lights.

Show Times: December 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st 7:00pm. Matinee Shows: December 15th and 22nd at 3:00pm.  Tickets are $12.00 for adults and children. For ticket  information visit www.awolinc.org  or call 912-303-4987 or email kgreen@awolinc.org
