Come celebrate the fun and beauty of winter at the Ninth Annual Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival. Ten unique films included in this year's Backcountry Film Festival will inspire you to embrace the UP. The Backcountry Film Festival will be making a tour stop in Spokane on Jan 31st.
The films come from renowned filmmakers who search backcountry corners across the globe to submit their best work, and from grassroots filmmakers who take a video camera out on their weekend excursions and submit their best films.
The festival was first created in 2004 to highlight Winter Wildlands Alliance's efforts to preserve and promote winter landscapes for human-powered users. The festival is being shown in locations throughout the United States, Canada and overseas to Antarctica, Europe, Australia and Asia.
All proceeds from the Spokane showing go directly to the Inland Northwest Backcountry Alliance's efforts to preserve opportunities for quiet muscle-powered winter recreation and raise awareness of winter management issues on public lands. Go to www.ibackcountry.org for more information about the Spokane Showing of the Backcountry Film Festival and the Inland Northwest Backcountry Alliance. The Inland Northwest Backcountry Alliance is an affiliate of the Spokane Mountaineers Foundation, a 501(c)3 Non-profit Organization.
