Florida Nursing Leadership Conference
Patrick Coonan, Greta Sherman, and Verena Briley Hudson will be the featured speakers at the Florida Leadership Conference organized by the Nursing Consortium of South Florida and the Florida Organization of Nurse Executives. This one-day conference brings to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood three of the nation's thought leaders on a wide array of topics important to leadership development including succession planning, recruitment and retention, and leader orientation. If the future of nursing leadership is important to you, you won't want to be anywhere else on the 20th of March.
Patrick R. Coonan, EdD, RN, CNAA, Dean and Professor at the School of Nursing at Adelphi University, will be speaking on nurse leader succession planning. Greta Sherman, Senior Vice President Healthcare for TMP Worldwide Advertising & Communications, nationally recognized for her work in developing healthcare standards for human resource metrics, will speak on recruitment and retention of nurse leaders. Ms Sherman is a member of the Human Capital Metrics Consortium and the Nursing Practice and Education Coalition, and is an Advisor to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Verena Briley Hudson serves on AONEs Board of Directors, American Hospital Associations Regional Policy Boards and is an AONE Aspiring Nurse Leader Institute instructor. Mrs. Briley Hudson is the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Director, Office of Healthcare Inspections for the Office of Inspector General and was the former Chief Nurse Executive for the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System; one of six VA medical centers where she has held held leadership positions during her 35-year career. She will speak on the essentials of nurse management orientation. The program will take place on the 20th of March at the Seminole Hardrock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL.
