DOLORES, a One-Woman Physical Theater Production about the temporary life of a 220 year old Bionic woman.
The show combines Mime, Butoh, Clowning and Music to express opinions about the wild human nature being tamed by an overpowering government and the impact of consumerism and technology on an individual.
Dolores' life was touched by death yet fed by an innate optimism and occasional silliness. She made mistakes, lived in doubt, and experienced an empty darkness that drove her into a wall of hopelessness for humanity. Modern society pitched her a solution: "Give into consumerism and become fuel for technology, trade your human heart for one of steal, it will fulfill your insatiable appetite for connection", she bought into it. Bionic Dolores spent hundreds of years connecting with invisible people. This type of exchange created a large void in the center of her fleeing human body, void that sucks and spits her out back in the time when she made the trade of hearts, choosing a more naturalistic way of communing with her self and the earth Dolores changes the trajectory of her life and is able to rest in peace.
The Music for Dolores was composed and is performed by Carlos M. Kampff accompanied by guest musicians.
