ShawnMikael(s) in CoHi: Laura Spadanuta's Farewell Tour, and Colin Murchie's Second "Gallery Showing"
What do we have lined up for this month? Sriracha-sauce level improv hotness, that's what.
First, Laura Spadanuta: DC improv scene mainstay. From improv to sketch to mash-ups to festivals, we've loved how she's made us laugh, and have been grateful for her friendship. And how does she repay us? Get this: she's moving up I-95, back to her NY-NJ-Bridge-and-Tunnel origins. We know, right? To bid her adieu, she'll be performing in two shows on this bill: first, she'll take the stage as part of a goodbye mashup we're calling "The Laura Spadanuta Players (feat. Laura Spadanuta)." Then she'll take the stage with Caroline Blaire Petit as part of a two-person version of the ever popular Dr. Girlfriend.
To close, ShawnMikael(s) will be joined by a very special guest, an artist in the greatest sense of the word: Colin Murchie, who will not only act as our monologist for the evening, but will, in his own inimitable, preternatural way, "paint" our scenes as only he can, turning the gallery that is Studio 1469 into his own personal canvas. If you've never scene Colin do this, you're lacking a comprehensive understanding of what improv can do. And no one wants to lack that

...and, of course, Laura Spadanuta!

And finally, us, ShawnMikael(s):
Special Guest: Colin Murchie
Our Host? She's opened for some of the top comedians in the country, and played to audiences up and down the East Coast. Affectionately known as "Juicy J-Bro," Jessica Brodkin!
But: you can't see any of it unless you buy a ticket. And you know how that works: we only can sell a total of 10 (TEN!) at the door. So get yours early and often...
Remember: Studio 1469 is BYOB!: Keep in mind that the space doesn't sell alcohol. However, you are welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages to the show (provided, of course, you are of legal drinking age and aren't a gargantuan douche).
ShawnMikael(s) merchandise (read: "cool logo-emblazoned t-shirts") will be on sale. $15 each, available in all sizes
The Space: Studio 1469 (http://studio1469.com/), located in the rear of 1469 Harvard Street, is not your normal performance space: one part artist's hideaway, one part "white-box" theater, it's a hidden gem in bustling Columbia Heights. Please note that access isn't available on Harvard Street, but by entering via the alley off 15th Street between Harvard Street and Columbia Road. Once in the alley, walk straight to the end, where you'll find the space. More information. Directions, and a map are available here:
Show up. Tell Laura goodbye. Tell Colinon second thought, don't tell Colin anything. Just shut up, listen and get schooled..
