Gather, Museum of Glass' annual university night, will offer two hands-on workshops: glassblowing and fusing. Spaces are limited.
Glassblowing: Take to the Hot Shop floor and be a glassblower for a night. With expert help from MOG staff, you will harness your breath to create a glass float! This is a great workshop for thrill seekers and lovers of free form, organic artwork with surprise end results! 24 spaces available.
Please note - If you are participating in a glassblowing workshop, you must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants to work on the hot shop floor. You must wear natural fiber clothing, such as cotton.
Fusing: Design a fused glass pendent or magnet using flat glass, stringers, noodles, murrini and dichroic glass. Pieces are fused in the Museum's kiln to melt your assemblage into one piece of glass. This is a great workshop for those interested in graphic design, illustration or just stacking materials to see what happens! 50 spots available.
NOTE: If all workshops are full you will have the opportunity to add your name to the wait list at Gather on November 22nd.
Workshop participants MUST check in at the museum 15 minutes prior to their workshop time (with the exception of the 6:30pm glassblowing time) or your workshop space will be given away to those on the wait list.
