Ars Musica Chorale continues its annual tradition of presenting the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah at its holiday concert. Known worldwide for the inspiring and energetic "Hallelujah Chorus," Messiah is recognized as G.F. Handel's most frequently performed work and arguably as the most famous musical depiction of the life of Jesus. Messiah features a host of dynamic solo and choral movements. Music Director Dusty Francis is joined by soloists Erika Lloyd, Eric S. Brenner, Daniel Bates, and Peter Walker, as well as the Westchester Symphonic Brass Quintet. This concert will also mark the conducting debut of Ars Musica's first-ever conducting intern, Alex Canovas.
The program includes the world première of a new work by Ars Musica's Composer-in-Residence Vince Peterson, Morten Lauridsen's "Sure on This Shining Night," and many more seasonal favorites. We invite the audience to be a part of this festive occasion by joining us in a spirited sing of beloved carols before enjoying our presentation of Messiah.
Join us for a free pre-concert reception with Dusty Francis, Vince Peterson, and other featured artists at 7pm.
