The Gold Mine Pickers and Red Tail Ring
Join us for an evening of Original & Traditional OLD-TIME and FOLK music from two up-and-coming acts sponsored by the Great Lakes Acoustic Music Association.
Red Tail Ring (www.redtailring.com) will lead off this ALL AGES evening of great music, followed by the Goldmine Pickers (www.goldminepickers.com) of Goshen, Indiana. Kids 16 and under are FREE with adult ticket holder.
Kalamazoo's own Red Tail Ring Red Tail Ring is the Americana roots duo of Michael Beauchamp and Laurel Premo. Whether rendering a traditional tune or one of their original compositions, the duo infuses each song with musical imagination, haunting harmonies and instrumental artistry on fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, jawharp and plain-old foot stomping. Since 2009, Red Tail Ring has released three albums, and traveled increasingly farther in their musical ramblings, playing shows throughout the Midwest, and touring on both coasts. In the summer of 2011, the duo added Denmark to their list when they performed and taught as cultural ambassadors through the American Embassy.
Goldmine Pickers have been brewing a fresh blend of acoustic music for audiences in the U.S. and Europe since 2003. Reviewers and concert-goers alike have reached for culinary terms to describe the music of the Midwest three-piece, including, "fresh", "tasty", "choice ingredients", "savory", and "a pleasing, hearty stew." Described as having a "timeless approach yet a style that is uniquely their own," the band effortlessly serves up a rich, fun blend of Americana, bluegrass, folk, old-time and Irish music--with dashes of country, and jam for good measure.
