Songwriting Works 3rd Annual Community SongFest

+ Life's a Song CD Kickstarter kick-off with cake!!!

Sunday November 10th  from 2-6 PM
Northwest Maritime Center - 431 Water St. Port Townsend, WA 98368

SW's 3rd Annual Community Songfest returns to Port Townsend with an all-ages celebration of intergenerational music-making on the Olympic Peninsula. Renowned local songwriters will perform songs they've co-written with 200 people in Jefferson and Clallam counties  and share stories from these splendidly unexpected collaborations.

Enjoy performances by Songwriting Works' Touring Ensemble: Judith-Kate Friedman, Matt Sircely, Keeth Monta Apgar with guest appearances by Orville Johnson, Anke Summerhill, Daniel Deardorff, Laurence Cole, Joe Breskin and The Musical Instigators.  Poet Bill Mawhinney MC's.

The festivities start interactively at 2pm with Judith-Kate Friedman and Laurence Cole conducting spontaneous singing, harmony and improvisation.

The main concert featuring all the artists -- in solo, duet, trio, quartets and ensemble -- happens from 3 to 5pm.

At 5pm join in a "Kickstart and Cake!" social.  The performers will officially launch SW's kickstarter campaign for their forthcoming "Life's a Song" CD  and expanding 2014 concerts and programs in Western Washington.
Free Cake, sponsored by Wallyworks Construction, will be provided.

Tickets can be purchased online here at Brown Paper Tickets and at the Port Townsend Food Co-op (414 Kearney Street, Port Townsend, WA)

The venue is fully ADA accessible.
