A Christmas Toy Story
Saturday, December 7th 3:00pm 7:00pm
Contrapose Dance presents "A Christmas Toy Story". This hour long, family friendly ballet set in Santa's workshop features an original story of elves, broken toys, a great gust of wind, and the resourcefulness of friends.
Join us for this delightful ballet: The elves are hard at work in Santa's Workshop inspecting the toys they have made for Santa to give out on Christmas. But they have found some mistakes! A Ballerina whose shoes are too big, a Penguin that is missing his suit, an unstuffed Teddy Bear, a Jack in the Box that cannot open, and a Raggedy Ann and Andy who are sewn together! They move these toys aside, and leave the workshop for a little snack. After the elves depart, all the toys fill with life and dance. The broken toys try to join in, but the well-made toys make fun of them and refuse to let them participate. All the while, little wisps of wind-wind minions-witness the mean tendencies of the well-made toys. They fly off and tell the Wind Fairy. The Wind Fairy arrives in the workshop and investigates, finding out just how mean the well-made toys are. She punishes the well-made toys for their mean behavior, creating a storm that blows the well made toys away! After the wind settles down, the broken toys realize there will not be enough toys for Christmas. They resolve to fix each other using their combined resourcefulness to do so. The Wind Fairy returns, thinking she missed some of the mean, well-made toys. The toys that were once broken plead their case to the Wind Fairy, convincing her of who they are. The elves return to find the toys & quickly get them wrapped and packed for delivery! The toys are delivered just in time for Christmas day!
