"When I was a kid I wanted to be a sumo wrestler. But as I grew up I realized no matter how hard I tried or how much I ate, I'd never be Japanese."
Pete Borchers, the winner of both the Clean Comedy Contest and the Laff with Louie Anderson contest, headlines a cast of clean comedians at Scott Hansen's Comedy Gallery Premiere located in Moe's Supperclub in Moundsview. Shows are December 6 and 7 at 8:00PM. Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 the day of the show. Tickets are available in person at Moe's or by calling 763-786-1800. Tickets are also available 24/7 by phone or online through www.brownpaperticket.com 800-838-3006.
Pete Borchers is your average Minnesota guy. He is a frustrated Vikings fan and gets angry when people ask him to go to the cabin before it is warm. Pete just bought a home in the suburbs and has a new mortgage bigger than a Kardashian's ego. He needs a laugh as much as his audience. His observational style will always keep you laughing.
"When I had my first child it was a boy. God bless my wife for enduring the unspeakable-ness of childbirth. I don't think I could have done it without her."
Pete's current maturity level and gag reflex, made him woefully ill-prepared for the poop-covered minefield that became his life. Pete was fearful of becoming a dad. People told that him he will be a great dad but he worries how they can base that on a guy who has forgotten to take the money at an ATM.
Pete is the father of two young boys who, despite his wife's best efforts, want to be just like him. They may be young (age 3 and age baby), but they've already developed their father's fondness for watching TV and not picking up after themselves.
The late nights and parade uniquely disgusting substances babies produces may wear on him, but he insists it will all be worth it once they start mowing his lawn. Pete enjoys doing comedy because it gets him out of the house and he gets to surrounded himself with people who won't ask "why?' 46 times in a row.
Their current project is a feature film which stars the duo called "The God Complex" and The Stagebenders TV Show, a scripted, half-hour sitcom. If the TV show leaves the audience anywhere near as frenzied as their stage show, even Abbott and Costello wouldn't want to follow them!
