Four Taiwanese high school students Yvette, a rock and roll girl and a drop-out because of a congenital heart condition; Wendy, Yvettes best friend and a gifted student; Jimmy who falls in love with a teacher, and meets the fate of being expelled from the school; and Akira, a Japanese exchange student who loves soccer but is always the last in academic. They hang out at a place near the tracks of the Taiwan High Speed Rail, surrounded by rice paddies and irrigation canals, free from the control of adults.
