DHLC Fall Concert featuring Heather Hardy, Sabra Faulk and the Amber Norgaard Band
Come join us for the first-time ever performance of these three amazing singer/songwriter/performers backed by a powerful band of some of Arizona's finest musicians. Heather "lil' mama" Hardy, Sabra Faulk and the Amber Norgaard Band will team up to deliver an evening to remember. These awardwinning musicians fuse blues, rock, funk, folk and country in both original music and favorite cover songs, with soulful vocals blending together into three part harmonies, violin unlike you've ever heard it played before, riveting electric guitar solos, and a driving rhythm section.
Heather "Lil' Mama" Hardy, a blues violin prodigy, studied violin at the Manhattan School of Music. She tours internationally, played with the Sam Taylor Blues Band, and was inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame in 2000. She captivates audiences with her unique style of violin ranging from delicate ambient playing to full-out "wah-wah" blues solos and a sultry vocal performance.
Sabra Faulk headlined the 2012 Tucson Folk Festival. She is known for her prolific songwriting, funk/blues/rock bass and guitar playing and her smooth, passionate vocals. Her music career spans three decades and she has won multiple Tucson Area Music Awards (TAMMIES).
This will be a debut performance for Amber Norgaard's full electric band at Desert Hills Lutheran Church. The band will back-up all three singer/songwriters and features many-time TAMMIES award winner Doug "Hurricane" Floyd on electric guitar, Tucson Musician Museum inductee Jay Trapp on bass and the very talented, internationally touring Junior Medina on drums.
Amber Norgaard, a nurse-turned-musician, is described as "one of Tucson's great musical trailblazers" (Tucson Lifestyle Magazine). She delivers a passionate vocal/piano/guitar performance. Her eloquent lyrics inspire a sense of hope. She tours nationally and has opened for Judy Collins, Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald.
The evening will feature a special "sneak preview" of Amber's "Raise Me Up" music video directed by Hollywood-based filmmaker Marcus De Leon, a project they did in collaboration with Equine Voices, a southern Arizona horse rescue and sanctuary.
