Walking Tour: East Madison: Cable Cars and Cattle Pounds

Explore the early history of the East Madison district with historian Fred Brown.  Learn about the homestead of African American pioneer, William Grose; the car barn for the Madison Street cable cars; and the cattle pounds, where city herders once brought stray cattle that illegally roamed the streets.  Start at the corner of 22nd Avenue and E. Olive St., near the Safeway parking garage
