Locally Grown
Locally Grown spotlights local choreographers, featuring: Eric Hampton's Nocturne 1; new works by Olivia Sabee, Kathleen Weitz, and MOVEIUS Founding Director Diana Movius; and the return of Kimberly Parmer's Big River, to the music of Johnny Cash.

Prolific choreographer Eric Hampton's Nocturne I brings to the stage a story about a brooding man entranced by two alluring women. Back by popular demand, Kimberly Parmer's Big River infuses classical ballet with sharp, athletic and modern movements. Plus, MOVEIUS will premiere new works including director Diana Movius' Praying for Rain, inspired by the 1930s Dust Bowl, farming and changing seasons. Company dancer Kathleen Weitz will raise the curtain on a piece set to Bach, and Associate Director Olivia Sabee, will also premiere Invisible Steps, exploring how dancers perceive and internalize their art. Special guest Parallel Octave, a Baltimore-based chorus, will provide live music to accompany Sabee's work, which is set to music by Paul Dukas with a backdrop of Enlightenment French texts.

Tickets run for $25; $15 for students; and $5.00 cash tickets for teens ages 13-19.

Tickets for Teens are available at the MOVEIUS Box Office 30 minutes prior to performances.* Tickets are based on availability and teens must present valid proof of age, such as school or government ID, at time of purchase.
