Butch Clancy ----** Detroit / Dubstep / Trap / Bass Music --------
Also Performing With Marquese Scott!
The Ghost of Detroit has materialized. Crafting music for over a decade has afforded Motor City based producer/drummer Butch Clancy precious time to fine tune his own unique, bass laden style. With a production resume reading like a laundry list of genres: hip hop, house, dubstep... boundaries are ignored and risks taken.
Despite being introduced to the world in 2011 when street dancer Marquese Scott's performance to Butch's interpretation of "Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks" went absolutely viral (78 million views and counting), the Motown native remained shrouded in ambiguity until just recently. As if emerging from nowhere, he abruptly took the tail end of 2012 by force with over 20 headlining dates across the US. The fall of 2012 also saw Butch triumph over a sea of submissions to win Beatport Play's remix contest with a rendition of Zeds Dead's "Cowboy", Ellie Goulding commissioning an official rework of her single "Anything Could Happen" and Steve Aoki hand-picking Butch's "Where I Can't Follow" to feature on a forthcoming Dim Mak compilation.
Coincidentally in line with all other up-and-coming producers, 2013 will see Butch Clancy's momentum rise to fever pitch.
***** SPECIAL Guest Marquese Scott! *******
Marquese Scott, also known as Nonstop, is a YouTube personality, hip hop and dubstep street dancer whose work has been used in music videos, TV shows, advertisements, and live performances. He is signed with Xcel Talent Agency and is part of the dance crew RemoteKontrol. His YouTube channels include WHZGUD and WHZGUD2.
Born in Inglewood, California and raised in Indianapolis, IN, Marquese Scott originally wanted to become an architect. Engrossed in a love of art and music, Marquese studied dance artists such as street performer Flat Top and Turbo, a.k.a. Boogaloo Shrimp, famous for the movie "Breakin." He learned from west coast popping crews, and especially the dance crew U-min, from Japan. His musical influences came from groups such as Zapp & Roger, Kraftwerk, and Afrika Bambaataa. He started dancing at the age of 12 at an area skating rink in Indianapolis.
In 1999, Marquese enlisted in the United States Navy and spent four years as a navigator on the USS Constellation, touring Hawaii, Mexico, Singapore, Australia, and the Gulf Region. During his service years, he realized that his love of dance filled every other thought and he decided to pursue a professional career in 2003 when his enlistment was over. Since then, he has continued perfecting his art by imitating the flow of nature and matter (i.e. how water flows, snow falls, and wind blows) to music. Marquese, a.k.a "Nonstop," has become a member of Siberian Nights, Electric Ground Control, Collizion, and G-Style South before becoming a founding member of RemoteKontrol.
Outside of RemoteKontrol, Nonstop co-founded "Shut Up And Dance," one of the hottest dance events in ATL that has dancers test their skills and musicality as they battle to music of the given genre (dubstep, g-funk, hip-hop, etc.). Marquese' has primarily found fame via YouTube; his channel has been very successful, with around half a million subscribers and several videos with millions of views. Within two weeks of its public access on YouTube, the video "PUMPED UP KICKS|DUBSTEP" has been featured on the front page news of MSN.com, The Huffington Post, CBS News, Yahoo! News, Gather.com, PerezHilton.com, and on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, where Marquese makes a live appearance.
