Something to Hold On To: A Documentary Filmmaking Workshop Saturday, Jan. 24, 12-3pm Instructor: SJ Chiro & Barbara Collopy O'Halloran Tuition: $30 Max Attendance: 10 Recommended for children ages 7-11
Do you have a favorite toy, stuffed animal or special blanket? You've had it forever, you always fall asleep holding it close, and now it's about to fall apart? This one-day workshop will focus on your special relationship after all, you've been through a lot together! Along the way we'll explore the documentary film process of gathering words, images and sounds to tell the story of this very special friendship. This workshop is based on the Houghton Mifflin Children's book, Creature Comforts, People and their Security Objects by Barbara Collopy O'Halloran, with photographs by Seattle photographer, Betty Udesen.
