Forks. Corks. Action! 2014 Kickoff Dinner to benefit MEarth!
Join us for a special farm to table dinner at California Market, where the Hyatt Carmel Highlands culinary team is excited to introduce Forks. Corks. Action! 2014, a year-long gastronome series to benefit local environmental education nonprofit, MEarth.
The evening will feature a 3-course family style dinner prepared by Executive Sous Chef Brian Lairby (Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa, Monterey), with special guest chef appearances by Chef Dan Kelly (American Craft, Hyatt Regency Chicago), Chef Aaron Hagerdorn (Prairie, Hyatt Regency Minneapolis) and Chef Shane Hammett (The Lone Eagle Grille, Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe).
The family-style dinner will highlight veggies harvested from the MEarth gardens paired with local wines from Galante Vineyard and Dawn's Dream. Menu:
* Start | MEarth Veggies: Beets, Carrots, Celery
* Savor | Hanger Steak - Nasturtium Chimichuri, Crispy Butternut Fries, Halibut Cheeks- Caper Berries, Crackling Cauliflower and Chard
* Sweet Treat | Green Apple- Perilla, Basil Pot De' Creme- Grand Marnier Gelee
Attendees will have opportunity to bid on irresistible silent auction items to help raise additional dollars to support the work of MEarth in Monterey County. Guests will also be the first to learn about Forks. Corks. Action! 2014 which gives participants the opportunity to experience the 'Wine Maker Series', 'Meet the Farmer' Lunch Series, 'A Taste of...' seasonal delights series and 'Hello Sunshine Thursdays', throughout the coming year!
100% of proceeds from this special dinner will go towards MEarth an environmental education nonprofit with roots in Carmel Valley, California, that is growing the next generation of environmental leaders through education, collaboration, partnerships and community action.
