For November's Word/Play, we're inviting the literary world's arch nemeses to determine once and for all who's better at vaguely book-themed parlor games. That's right: Illustrators versus Authors in a fight to the metaphorical death for arbitrarily awarded points in an epic battle of wit and whimsy.
We'll force them through the grueling paces of a literary pictionary cage match, followed by the utter devastation of our First Lines game, where panelists will race to write a convincing first line for a book they've never read. Will the illustrators overthink Pictionary? Will the writers overthink First Lines? You'll have to see for yourself on Friday, November 1st at 7pm. Join us!
IN THE WRITERS CORNER: Mac Barnett Marcus Ewert & LeUyen Pham
IN THE ILLUSTRATORS CORNER: Lisa Brown Yasmine Surovec & Christian Robinson
