It's Personal: Playing Emotional Games, improv workshop with Chess with Death
Chess With Death's Juliette Everheart and Christian Robinson come to OKC from Kansas City to teach this special workshop.
Sunday, September 6th from 2pm-5pm at Reduxion's Broadway Theater
In this workshop we are focusing on organic, game based scenes rooted in the emotions and reactions of the characters in the moment.
We will teach you how to establish a strong base reality. How to fill in those questions of who, where and what are we doing in ways that really expand your world.
We go into real emotional relationships and how to go beyond just the label (father, boss, doctor, etc) and find games that can be taken anywhere. How to trust in your real reactions and real emotions, reacting to someone realistically will always yield better comedy than wacky reactions or ironic detachment.
Learn how to use tension and dynamics in your scenes to build relationships in a way that shows and not tells and how often the best way to play an emotional game is to simply call it out.
