It's a Halloween new music rave/dance party! Put on a costume, move to the music, and celebrate the return of the Little Chamber Music Series That Could at Vancouver's Roundhouse Community Centre!
Vancouver's beloved Little Chamber Music Series That Could (LCMSTC) is returning after being dormant for nearly a decade! Under the direction of Artistic Director Mark Haney, the LCMSTC is ready to put it's stamp on the 21st century with a series of innovative, original and accessible new music events.
Our Relaunch Party is a family-oriented, new music Halloween rave/dance party, and the LCMSTC is thrilled to welcome Canadian new music phenom Nicole Lizeé to Vancouver for this very special event. Nicole's work as a composer and turntablist is lauded world-wide; last summer the Kronos Quartet debuted a new work at Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms, and the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony recently premiered her concerto for orchestra and power trio based on themes by Rush.
Montreal-based group SaskPower will combine with classical instrumentalists to meld new classical, psychedelia, and a strong dose of vintage film soundtrack music, creating a spooky dance rhythm that flows with the crowd, like an 1980's rave. Dress up! Get down!
