The Gong Show
Dear Friends and Colleagues:
We are happy to announce the live recreation of The Gong Show in Chicago scheduled for Thursday, October 19th, 2013 at 8:00 pm at 3160 Chicago's Piano & Cabaret. Do you remember or can admit to remembering The Gong Show? Well, it was a popular amateur talent contest that was broadcasted on TV in the 1970s. Its premise revolved around a contest of amateur talent performing for a panel of three (3) celebrity judges. If an act is particularly unappealing, a large gong on stage was stuck by one of the judges and the person is taken off the stage. There was commentary and humor, talent and wannabe artists, applause and worthless prizes. The Gong Show Chicago will be a fantastic and entertaining event. Funds will benefit the music ministry at aChurch4Me Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) and with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Crib, the Night Ministry's overnight LGBT youth shelter. We extend this invitation to you as a friend, colleague, and ally of Chicago's LGBT community. As mentioned, the funds will support two unique LGBT-focused organizations that serve the community. All donations are taxed deductible.
