MARTHA BASSETT, JESSI PHILLIPS
Foundry Hall South Haven, MI
North Carolina singer-songwriter, Martha Bassett, is a newcomer to the Midwest, having toured the East Coast for several years. Her distinctive vocals, energetic performances, and magnetic stage presence are hallmarks of her music, which runs the gamut of honky-tonk to slinky standards to Appalachian roots. Martha is frequently heard on live radio shows, has regular festival appearances, and even lent her talents to the Sony Classics film, "Junebug." She is joined on this tour by bassist/vocalist Pat Lawrence, a formidable talent himself, whose harmony vocals and funky upright bass style bring their original tunes into a dimension unique to listeners of Americana and country music.
