Mark Foehringer Dance Project|SF presents its fifth annual holiday production of Mark Foehringer's Nutcracker Sweets, a unique 50 minute version of the classic ballet Nutcracker specifically designed for families with young children. Featuring live music -- a chamber orchestra with 9 musicians -- and the return of former ODC dancer, Brian Fisher as Drosselmeyer, musical direction by Michael Morgan, set design by Peter Crompton, costume design by Richard Battle, lighting design by Patrick Hajduk and production direction by Frédéric O. Boulay. Nutcracker Sweets is an affordable, fun and zany rendition of this popular holiday tradition.
"Nutcracker Sweets is a family-style version of the classic ballet Nutcracker," said Mark Foehringer, artistic director of Mark Foehringer Dance Project|SF. "The production features storytelling, dance theater, ballet and live music. It is a special opportunity for different generations to enjoy the experience of seeing a live performance together."
