Acacia in Kenya started as a grass-roots, joint effort by co-founded by Joyce Mohr and Sam Lutomia in 2005 to partner with community leaders to create a school, St. Elizabeth's Girls High School, in rural Kenya which has grown one student, one book, one donation, one program at a time. The school now educates and makes a profound difference in the lives of 160+ girls.|
You are cordially invited to spend an inspiring evening listening the stories of the organization's growth and extraordinary student successes. You will also hear about the experience of this year's recent trip to Kenya and the upcoming 2014 trip. You will have the opportunity to express your interest in coming on next year's adventure. A brief film and some music will be part of the program.
All proceeds of this benefit will go directly to funding school programs and the dormitory which began this summer. And, as a special incentive, all money raised this fall (up to $10,000) will be matched by a very generous donor who has been a long time supporter.
"What we are learning around the world is that if women are healthy and educated, their families will flourish. If women are free from violence, their families will flourish. If women have a chance to work and earn as full and equal partners in society, their families will flourish. And when families flourish, communities and nations do as well."
-Secretary of State and former First Lady Hilary Clinton
