What happens to the marriage of a well-to-do, sophisticated couple, Elsa and Michele, when Michele is fired by the company he had founded years ago? The life of this couple and their grown daughter is put under a magnifying glass in this film, which sheds light on values and on the loss of security which certainly resonates beyond the Genoa setting.
