This variation of East Coast Swing got its name from the Whiskey River Landing in Henderson, LA, and has grown to become a favorite dance done to Cajun music. Originally called the Lake Charles Slide, the nature of this dance varies from East Coast swing in the styling and the infusion of individualized footwork.
Though it is a partner dance, one is not required to register with a partner. The class registration will be monitored for a close gender balance and the instruction will include regular rotation of dance partners.
