Holiday Hosting - Brunch Cooking Class
Holiday house guests? Join Bowen Close and Otehlia Cassidy for a fun, entertaining, delicious class featuring brunch recipes for your next guests or holiday party. We'll help you prepare a brunch feast perfect for stress-free entertaining, and offer delicious drink ideas.
Menu:
- Pear streusel upside down coffee cake
- Baked eggs with seasonal vegetables and local cheese
- Breakfast sausage from scratch
- Roasted garlic and herb biscuits
- To drink: Savory and spicy bloody marys from scratch
- To drink: Champagne cocktails with Quince + Apple syrups
- To drink: Coffee
Cost: $45, with discounts for multiple classes (if registering for more than one class, choose the $42 ticket option - discount does not apply to multiple tickets in one class)
15% of class proceeds donated to Eat for Equity Madison!

Otehlia Cassidy is an award-winning writer for Madison Magazine, and owner of Madison Eats, a local business that offers food tours and other food related special events in Madison, WI. She loves exploring the richness of our local food community and sharing it with others. Otehlia has taught cooking classes in Madison and Milwaukee. You can find more at the Madison Eats website.
Bowen Close is a food writer and cooking instructor dedicated to supporting community-based food systems and to helping people create delicious, beautiful, stress-free meals. She has taught classes on the West Coast and in the Upper Midwest and has published articles and recipes in online and print publications. Fall/Winter Cooking Class Extravaganza! This class is part of a Fall/Winter Cooking Class Extravaganza! Bowen Close of Bowen Appetit and Otehlia Cassidy of Madison Eats are partnering to present five delicious fall cooking classes, ranging from ethnic menus to holiday brunches and tapas class (hey, it doubles as date night!). Enjoy one or all of them (discounts for multiple classes). These classes feature demonstrations and hands-on instruction, generous tastings, a fun learning environment, local ingredients, written instruction and experienced instructors! Space is limited, so register early.
