Film Presentation: Mondays at Racine
Mondays at Racine at the Jacob Burns Film Center. Presented in partnership with the Cancer Coalition of Westchester.
Once a month, sisters Cynthia and Rachel open their Long Island beauty salon free of charge to women undergoing chemotherapy. As their hair falls to the floor, the women gossip, giggle, weep, face their fears, and discover unexpected beauty.
This affecting documentary, which demonstrates the immense power of compassion, was nominated for an Academy Award. Cynthia Wade. 2012. 39 m. NR. US.
