*Not sure if you are an Intermediate or Advanced skater? Read these descriptions and assess where you fit in:
Beginner: You can complete crossovers but still struggle to be fluid and powerful with your motions. You have basic stops down, but find it difficult to always come to a quick and controlled stop from a sprint. You are stable on your feet but have fallen because of some missed steps or when your skates get locked with others. You almost always fall when hit. Being really close to other skaters makes you nervous. Sometimes your arms flail while trying to maintain your balance. You have difficulty skating in the opposite direction.
Intermediate: You can complete smooth fluid crossovers. You have basic stops down, but can't always come to a quick and controlled stop from sprint. You are stable on your feet but still fall on occasion. You can take hits and not fall but it does happen a few times a game/practice. You can skate very close to skaters but sometimes fall as a result. You can skate in the opposite direction but have trouble performing smooth fluid crossovers on the turns.
Advanced: You can complete smooth fluid crossovers using both legs to gain speed. You have all types of stops down and can almost always come to a quick and controlled stop from a sprint. You rarely fall even when being hit. You can skate very close to others and even if a foot gets taken out from under you can stay up. You can skate in the opposite direction as well as you can in the normal direction. You rarely lose control of your body.
