Benjamin Britten: The Prodigal Son & The Golden Vanity
Woodrow Bynum leads The Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys, players and guest soloists in a double bill of two of Britten's chamber operas on Tuesday 25 March at 7 p.m. The Prodigal Son is the third of Britten's church operas based on the medieval "No" plays of Japan. Sung in a costumed production with guest soloists and instrumentalists, the Cathedral nave is transformed into a medieval monastery, and the parable comes to life as never before. The boys of the Cathedral choir will perform The Golden Vanity, a short seafaring "Vaudeville" written for the Vienna Boys Choir.
The performance takes place in the splendid interior of The Cathedral of All Saints in Albany's Historic District.
All tickets are general admission. VIP-Prime tickets reserve you a spot in the best section of seats. VIP-Prime seating may not be discounted and is not available for sale on the night of the performance.
