Caroline Glick: SHACKLED WARRIOR: Israel and the Global Jihad
In foreign policy, the perspectives of the realist and the idealist almost always clash, but JERUSALEM POST columnist and deputy managing editor Carline B. Glick manages to vigorously embrace both sides. Her new book, SHACKLED WARRIOR, is a carefully structured collection of five years of POST columns that is both nuanced and unrelenting in its assessment of the dangers that loom in the Middle East. Refusing to offer false comfort, Glick asserts that the "Palestinian goal today is genocide" and concludes that no incentives will move either Hamas or Fatah from this position. The book covers the major challenges that Israel has faced and continue to affect Israel and the free world: the 2006 war with Hezbollah, the threat from Iran, U.S. foreign policy failures, and the ongoing struggle between the West and extreme Islamists.
