Cancer is something that affects everyone in their lives, whether it be yourself or someone you love - we all hear the stories of triumph and tragedy daily.|
Roller derby is no exception.
With thousands of skaters around the world and being the fastest growing sport on Earth, there will be stories like this in years to come.
When it hits so close to home and a skater is affected by it, it's a call to action for skaters to help one of their own. That is why the Susquehanna Valley Derby Vixens is sponsoring Get Lower: A Benefit for Miss Aya Massacre happening on September 28, 2013, at the Total Sports and Activity Center on Elmira Street in Williamsport, PA.
Come join the Vixens for an all-day tournament to raise money for Miss Aya Massacre on Saturday, September 28, from 10am to 8pm. Registration will be from 10am to 11am, and opening ceremonies will shortly follow. Depending on the number of skaters that register, we would like to have in addition to the tournament a fresh meat bout as well as a men's bout. In order to skate at all during the event, every skater must have passed their MSRs. Spread the word! Each skater will purchase his or her ticket and register individually and will be randomly placed on a mixed team as September 28 is not about rankings, divisions, playoffs, or championships. Get Lower: A Benefit for Miss Aya Massacre is about family and taking care of one of our own that has taken such good care of us. Please come and support!
Note: Referees and NSOs, if you would like to participate, message us on Facebook or email us at SVDVMassacreBenefit@yahoo.com. Since you are volunteers, we are waiving the admission fee. However, donations are welcome.
