First Floor's First Birthday
Join First Floor Theater on September 21st to celebrate the successes of our first year of creation, and to look forward to future artistic ventures!
Join us for an eclectic mix of food, drink, and music, highlighting some of Chicago's best restaurants, bars, breweries and bands, and raise a glass to toast the company.
Drinks sponsored by Revolution Brewing, Goose Island, Metropolis Coffee Company, Koval Distillery, Letherbee, and Lagunitas.
Featuring food from Piece Pizzeria, The Southern Mac and Cheese Truck, Zaleski & Horvath, Pasta D'Arte, Dia De Los Tamales and Antique Taco, with desserts from Alliance Bakery and Foiled Cupcakes.
Our silent auction will feature some incredible packages, including theater tickets (for FFT, Steppenwolf, Writers Theatre, Collaboraction, and About Face Theatre), restaurant gift cards, a distillery tour, yoga membership, and passes to next year's Pitchfork music festival.
Be sure to stop by our photo booth (run by FFT's own Molly FitzMaurice and Sid Branca), so everyone on Facebook can see how good-looking you are and how much fun you were having. Then catch performances by Jessica Marks & Quinn Tsan and The Amen Brothers, and dance to a set by DJ Last Man Standing!
All the proceeds from this event will go to funding our second season! Information about the second season will be available at the event, including the opportunity to vote on the author for our second annual lit festival!
For our first season, our launch party attendees voted on the Brothers Grimm, resulting in a literary festival of short plays inspired by their works. For our second season, party attendees will have a chance to vote for Mark Twain, Edgar Allen Poe, or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as the driving force of the 2014 festival.
