| Description |
The Placer Farm & Barn Tour celebrates Placer Countys agricultural heritage and the family farms that feed us. Every year this tour brings more and more families and people of all ages out to the beautiful Placer County countryside for a fun filled learning experience.
Tour Hosts will guide you through their daily life with tours and talks about how and why they became involved in agriculture. Each site will be different with; agricultural demonstrations, farm animals, farm equipment displays, hayrides, fly-fishing, food and wine tasting, live music and artists.
Tickets will include a detailed map with tour directions and a description of what activities will be at each location along with timed events. Tickets will be available for purchase at each site the day of the event.
The purpose of the Placer Farm & Barn Tour is:
* To connect area residents with local farmers
* To educate the non-agricultural public about local agriculture
* To make Placer County an agricultural tourism destination
* To build a philosophically & economically active support base for Placer County agriculture

Tips for a great farm and barn tour!
You will be walking around farms and most of the activities are outside. Wear closed shoes and come prepared for the weather. Wear layers and bring a hat, jacket or other appropriate clothing. Keep sunscreen handy.
Leave pets at home.
Please drive with caution on country roads. Farm entrances may be on curves, so signal well ahead and turn with caution.
Smoking is NOT allowed on farms and ranches.
Please help keep our farms clean. Use trash receptacles and recycling bins.
Bottled water will be available at most venues. Some venues will have snacks and sodas, as well as fresh produce for sale. Some will have lunch available for sale. Bring a cooler to keep purchased goods fresh.
Restrooms will be available at each venue. Coffee Pot Ranch, Rancho Roble Vineyard and Winery, Vina Castellano Vineyard and Winery, High Hand Historic Fruit Shed, Matsudas Landscape and Bonsai Nursery and Lakes Nursery have handicapped accessible restrooms.
This is a self-guided tour and your participation is voluntary. As in all natural settings, potential hazards exist. Please be aware of hazards and do not hold the farms, growers, tour committee, presenters or their agents responsible for any injury to you, your family or property.
You and your family may be photographed during the event and these photos are the property of the Placer Farm & Barn Tour. |
