Series 3 | TanzFEED | "Museums as Performance Institutions"
Presented by The Goat Farm Arts Center & glo
"Museums as Performance Institutions"
Installations are pushing traditional gallery spaces to their limits. Contemporary performance is challenging the confines of traditional stage. Join Atlanta's museum curators for a lively conversation with writers Catherine Fox and Debbie Michaud on institutions' deepening relationship with ephemeral work and the public's growing desire to be drawn inward by visceral, live experiences. The conversation will focus on collaboration, participation and transmission as part of the future of institutions, and the public's growing role as a participant in the creative process.
The TanzFEED series provides spirited dialogue and debate between curators, writers and artists experimenting with new ideas and forms. These open discussions are shaped in response to a need for an intimate space in which meaningful dialogue can occur with the public. FEED is dedicated to revealing bridges between visual art practice and its resonance in contemporary performance and thought.
