IMPLANT DENTISTRY - A TEAM APPROACH With Alfonso Pineyro, DDS and Mike Dominguez, CDT/TE
Teamwork is key for any successful dental implant treatment. This exciting lecture will review everyday implant situations from the eyes of both a Prosthodontist and a Certified Dental Technician. Learn to look at the dental implant restoration from a completely unique view by addressing common complications and finding solutions using a technical and prosthetic approach.
In this lecture Dr. Alfonso Pineyro and Mike Dominguez will talk about restorative solutions for implant dentistry covering the rationale for screw-retained restorations, solutions for cementable restorations as well as a discussion on materials, products and lab techniques for stable and aesthetic implant restorations.
This event will also cover the importance of case planning and team communication, clinical techniques to improve the accuracy and longevity of implant restorations, as well as preventing pit-falls in the process.

DR. ALFONSO PINEYRO
Dr. Alfonso Piñeyro was born and raised in upstate NY where his father practices as a general dentist. He attended the University at Albany, State University of New York. Dr. Alfonso Piñeyro
Dr. Piñeyro received his dental training at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. He Later completed a 2-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center.
Dr. Piñeyro completed an additional 3 years of education and received his specialty certificate in prosthodontics from the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center in 2006. Dr. Piñeyro is an affiliate instructor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Washington and is past president of the Washington State Society of Prosthodontists, and is one of the founding members of the New Millennium Study Club
Dr. Piñeyro has lectured both nationally and internationally on topics related to clinical prosthodontics and implant dentistry. He has authored several publications in peer reviewed dental journals such as the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, International Journal of Oral Maxillofacial Implants, Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry and Dentistry Today.
Dr. Piñeyro is presently involved in several aspects of dental research in Prosthodontics in conjunction with the University of Washington. He has been selected as one of America's Top Dentists for cosmetic dentistry by the Consumers' Research Council of America.
MIKE DOMINGUEZ CDT/TE
Mike is a Certified Dental Technician (CDT) and earned his Bachelor's of Science in Dental Lab Sciences from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA), summa cum laude.
Mike opened Kymata Dental Arts in 2009 in Seattle, Washington. Kymata specializes in implant, cosmetic, and comprehensive dentistry.
Mike speaks and trains dental technicians as a Key Opinion Leader for GC America and Nobel Biocare and has authored technical articles on implant and cosmetic techniques as well as marketing and lab communication.
Mike sits on the board of the Washington State Dental Lab Association and will serve as President in 2014. Mike is also a charter member of the dental lab cooperative, Opt-In which helps to bring small independent dental labs together to better serve their clients with technology, clinical consulting, and marketing.
