Comedy Night: Phil Hogan and Marcus Brown - EARLY SHOW
Join us for a night of comedy from some of the best in the business. These guys will have you in stitches guaranteed!
Originally from North Carolina, Phil has been in the entertainment business for almost thirty years, spending his early days as a touring musician. In 1990 Phil first took to the stage as a professional comedian drawing on his years of experience in front of an audience. Now a veteran performer, Phil can read an audience like no one else, sensing their mood and giving them what they want. His show is a Southern flavored blend of stand-up, original comedy songs, guitar goofiness, and musical impressions. Phil is not your typical guitar act he can actually play the guitarno endless string of parodies here.
Phil is also the operator of The Comedy Cellar at Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort during the ski season. This gives him the unique perspective of comedy on both sides of the microphone. He has appeared alongside other notable comedians such as Jeff Foxworthy, Carrot Top, Jerry Reed, Ron White, and Bill Engvall.
A native Washingtonian, Marcus Brown became interested in stand up comedy after keeping all of his co-workers in the back of the staff meetings, all of the people sitting in hearing distance at church, and anyone inquiring "how life has been?," in stitches minutes after talking. No matter the situation Marcus is good for laughs (many times unintentionally) A full-time idiot, he decided to use his quick wit and ignorant sense of humor to not only educate and inspire the youth but entertain and motivate adults.
Marcus' versatile, educated, and creatively urban style of comedy has caused him to quickly become a favorite amongst fans and fellow comedians in the Washington, D.C. area sharing the stage with such famous comedians as Renaldo Rey, Bruce Bruce, Rickey Smiley, Tony Woods, Michael Blackson, JB Smoove, Gary Gulman, Earthquake, Joe Clair, Mike Brooks, and Chris Tucker. Bringing laughs to everyone he encounters, Marcus Brown has appeared at various theaters, clubs, bars, and venues along the East Coast.
In 2007 Marcus was the comedic entertainment for DTLR's Corporate Christmas celebration and was a DC Improv 2008 Funniest Comic Finalist. In 2009 Marcus appeared in a Sierra Mist online commercial showcasing his comedic talent, and was a Finalist in the Big Easy DC Regional Comedy Festival as well as the Kaleidoscope Comedy "So You Think You're Funny" Annual Comedy Contest in 2010. In 2011 he was chosen to perform in the Staten Island Comedy Festival as a feature in the "Kings of the Capital" show with fellow DC Native and Last Comic Standing Finalist Rob Cantrell. In March 2012 Marcus continued to show his talents and won the Liberty Laughs Comedy Zone BIG BREAK competition.
