Songwriters in the Round
Lisa Redfern brings four talented Maine songwriters to perform in an intimate, unplugged setting in Frontier's theatre for an evening of compelling songs and stories.
An award-winning singer-songwriter who just released her 9th solo recording, Lisa blends her roots in all forms of Americana music to create something unmistakably her own. For over 25 years, Lisa has brought joy and comfort to listeners of all ages. After opening for Livingston Taylor, he commented to her "Wow, I haven't heard a voice like yours in 30 years, you sound like the original women of folk."
Dave Dersham's modest style has garnered admiration from the New England folk community and beyond. His textured chords weave, marine-like, from beneath the lyrical ether--words of which bite toward the socio-political; other songs are softer, winking toward our collective foibles."...Taps hopeful, bluesy melodies and reverses lyrical expectations at every turn... exudes a brand of humane charm that sets him apart from every other songwriter you'll see this year." --Club Passim.

Putnam Smith, who hails from Portland, Maine, could be an old-world troubadour fresh from the 19th Century. After all, he lives in a log cabin, plays his Grandfather's banjo, and prints up the jackets to his CDs on an antique letterpress. Yet this rootsy multi-instrumentalist songwriter (he also writes and performs on guitar, mandolin, fretless banjo, and piano), steeped as he is in old-time Appalachian traditions, is very much a storyteller for the modern age.
