Artists in Paris before the Great War
Where but on the Left Bank would Modernism, Cubism, and Surrealism collide? Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Marcel Duchamp, Henri Rousseau, and Salvador Dali were all in Paris on the cusp of World War I. Painter and art historian Beth Moga will discuss these five iconic boundary-pushers both individually and in the context of their combined presence in an extraordinary city at a singular point in time.
