On Sunday, September 1ST, DUB MISSION will celebrate 17 years of spreading the dub virus throughout the Bay Area and beyond. DUB MSSION residents DJ SEP, MANEESH the TWISTER, VINNIE ESPARZA, and LUDICHRIS will have the dance floor jumping all night long. The night will also be a record release party for the  Biggering Riddim EP, produced by DJ Sep and featuring vocals by two of Dub Mission's favorite guests over the years: dr Israel and Mista Chatman. NOT to be missed!

DUB MISSION was started in 1996 as an alternative to the typical reggae night. The idea was to present the more cutting-edge side of the music (i.e. all forms of dub, progressive roots reggae and dancehall) that was heard much in Bay Area clubs at the time. Luckily this period of time has also coincided with a great resurgence of interest in dub music through onstage performances and re-issues. Artists and DJs from all over the world and the U.S. have performed at DUB MISSION. A partial list includes the U.K.'s Adrian Sherwood & the ON-U Sound System, Mad Professor & the Ariwa Sound System, Zion Train, Overproof Sound System Prince Fatty's Sound System; Twilight Circus Dub Sound System (Holland) Florian Seyberth of Boozoo Bajou (Germany), Dubblestandart (Austria), Pitch Black (New Zealand), Yossi Fine of Ex-Centric Sound System (Israel), The Scientist, Nickodemus of Turntables on the Hudson, Tino Corp with Jack Dangers &, Ben Stokes, dr Israel, Dubtribe Sound System (special dub set) and many many others. We have also devoted special nights to the music of various reggae greats including Bob Marley, Lee Perry, King Tubby, and Prince Far I. We look forward to another year of riddims and laughter, with many more great shows to come.

Just some of the highlights over the years:
January 1999: DUB MISSION produces legendary dubmaster The Scientist along with the all-star Devil Dub Band (Buckethead, Brain, DJ Disk) at the Justice League.
April 1999:  Dub Mission co-presents the first Bay Area appearance by the Blood & Fire Sound System featuring Trinity, Dillinger, Ranking Joe and a rare appearance by selector Steve Barrow also at the Justice League .
September 2001: DUB MISSION celebrates its fifth anniversary with producer/mixmaster extraordinaire Adrian Sherwood, whose On-U Sound System has been a great influence on Dub Mission, featuring Ghetto Priest on the mic.
2002: DUB MISSION turns six with an unprecedented sound system featuring The Scientist at the controls.
2003: DUB MISSION's seventh anniversary features the first-and-only U.S. appearance ever! by Overproof Sound System featuring Ras Tweed on the mic.
2004: Dub Mission is nominated for "Best Party" by the Club World Awards.
2005: Dub Mission hosts an international dub summit with rare West Coast performances by Yossi Fine of Ex-Centric Sound System, and Cosmic Rocker and The Spy From Cairo of Organic Grooves.
2011: Dub Mission turns 11 years old with the debut of NYC's Subatomic Sound System featuring MCs Jahdan Blakkamoore and Treasure Don on the mic.
