Mahler:Das Lied von der Erde (Songs of the Earth)
Our Journey Season concludes with the "Alpha and Omega" Bach, upon whom all music henceforth was based, and Mahler the "apex" of Romanticism which began which with Beethoven's Third. Mahler's "Das Lied" was his penultimate work, and concludes with the poignant "Der Absheid" (The Farewell), perhaps foretelling his own untimely death shortly after.
