Essential Electives is a series of six unique workshops that will focus on a different topic each week, taught by OKC Improv instructors. You may enroll in all six for a major discount, or you may take one or more Essential Electives workshops for only $20 apiece!
Looking for a show, character, or game that could go 20-30 minutes? Are you ready to make your mark in the world of improv? Now's your time! Our veteran improv panel of actor/director/instructors have created dozens of unique shows for every skill level and will take you through the process of building YOUR show!
Many different skills are needed to build a unique experience that will stand the test of time, and this workshop will get you headed in the right direction: developing an idea into a workable concept, pitching/advertising your show, finding/auditioning the right people, crafting the audience experience, building a successful practice schedule, directing/coaching issues, adding theatricality with lights, sound, and costume, from staging a proof-of-concept performance all the way up to opening night! Students will direct each other and stage their ideas, and give feedback at the end of the workshop. There will also be an open Q&A period.
Class meets from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3rd @ FastSigns in OKC.
